| That
special place in our hearts feels so empty... But we realize, as time
passes,That animals have a way of teaching us about loving, about loyalty,
joy and friendship... And whatever we've shared in their presence can
never really be lost.

LUCY
|
Our Sweet Lucy Lesik
For five years, you brought
constant joy to our lives. Thank you for your popcorn
jumps, your cashew nut naps, your squeaks for food and
attention, your love, your sweetness, your friendship to Phoebe
and to us, (your human companions), and for so many more
wonderful qualities. Each day, you brought something new
and wonderful to our lives. We love you and miss you
dearly. We'll meet up with you again someday,
with open arms, at the "Rainbow's Bridge"!! :-)
You're forever in our hearts, little one.
Love from your family,
Monique, Andrew, and Phoebe
Lesik xoxo

BEAMER

COPPER
| Tribute
to a Best Friend
Sunlight
streams through the window pane
unto a spot on the floor...
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our
feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound...
then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A
voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours...
your golden voice is still.
But
I'll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I'll
wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet above.

PEPE
|

|
Andrew
and Tara Pope are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of
their little baby piggie Pepé Le Peu (Pepé for short - seen here
on the right with his friend Mocha). He was a very
special and loving piggie. We will miss his chasing Mocha, running
around, mad drinking, squeaking to music, and visiting his
arch-nemeses Morty and Napoleon. He was a great piggie to snuggle
with if you needed cheering up. He didn't want to leave your lap. We
loved him very, very much.
Pepé will be missed by all,
especially Tara, Andrew, Mocha, Morty and Napoleon.

THUMBELINA
THUMBELINA
SANDY RIEDEL
July
2, 1982 - July 21, 2003
Thumbelina came from a line of great cats starting with her mother,
Sandy. Despite being in our lives significantly less, Sandy
had a lasting impact. When compared to ordinary cats,
Thumbelina and her mother were special. It is my hope this
blessed line of cat continues to grow in generations of descendants.
Thumbelina lived a miraculous number of years! She wasn't a
pet, she is an integral part of our family. In her life, she
proved many times love goes beyond basic animal instinct. At
no time was this more apparent than when interacting with our
family, especially Carolyn. The relationship that evolved
between Carolyn & Thumbelina was something spoken beyond words.
Their bond was so strong, it had the most cynical hearts
appreciating the connection they shared. After much
persistence, when Thumbelina's body could not possibly go on, she
passed into Heaven comfortably on the terms that would honour their
bond. She was at Carolyn's side in bed, alert and in no pain.
Finding euthanasia such a fashion, my sister feels animals deserve
the human opportunity; to live right to the hour they're
destined. It was important that Jesus alone take Thumbelina.
'Creatures' are His 'creation' and caring for loved-ones as they
weaken isn't inconvenient, it is an honour. And so their
21-year promise was kept: that her beautiful 'Minou' would get
human respect in death. Thumbelina vowed in return, not to go
with Jesus unless Carolyn could be there. Indeed our cat was
as human as could be: intelligent and sensitive at an amazing
level. She truly communicated her thoughts to us with
sentience!
Thumbelina's long life
can be credited to her free spirit, never acting her age, and to her
love for our family. Seeing Carolyn safe in the life of a
loving man, Thumbelina could rest as Carolyn began the next
chapter; never forgetting the love and support from a truly
extraordinary little being. It takes great faith adjusting to
her absence. We three
were all under 10 when Thumbelina was born in our home.
Mom loved her like another child.
Given the wondrous span of her life, many know her. The
funeral was in the back yard where we were raised. A remarkable cat, she received numerous letters
and cards of condolence. To Winrose and all those who have
reached out to us, thank you! Let us not speak in past-tense.
We love our dear Thumbelina and shall, until we join her in 70
years! May God one day explain why their lifetime is shorter
than ours.

and family. |
