Alec has worked at Winrose Animal Hospital since 2018 since completing his practicum here; after finishing the Veterinary Office Assistant course at Robertson College.

Alec has always had a passion for animal care that has included volunteering at cat shelters, breeding rats, and working at his family farm where they have pigeons, ducks, geese, chickens and peacocks.

He has a special interest in Shiba Inus, rats, hedgehogs, and has a Shiba Inu of his own named Homer! He also has two Siamese cats.
