It all really began at age 4 when my parents gave me Poldark, my first cat, who lived to be 19 years old.
In Poldark’s senior years, I met the veterinarian Dr. Colleen Fisher who made an impact in my life by her compassion.
She showed me what a difference a vet can make to others.
After graduating from the Western College of Vet Medicine, I was hired by Dr. Bob Newfield and Mrs. Newfield at McLeod Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Bob’s mentorship shaped me as a vet. His desire was to show love through service to others.
I came to WinRose Animal Hospital in 2022 but this is really more of a homecoming: my childhood cat Poldark was a patient at WinRose Animal Hospital in his early years.
I enjoy being part of the team at WinRose because our vets and staff are so dedicated to their calling.
My mission statement as a vet is to aim to have a positive impact on the lives of pets and their people.
For me, one of the best parts of being a vet is developing a relationship of trust between pets and their families.
When I’m not at the clinic, I love playing the piano, attending Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra concerts, reading especially my favorite author Eugene Peterson, and spending time with my dogs Statler and Tarquin and my cats Mazo and Jazz.
